- Barby, 52 Derech Kibuts Galuyot, Tel Aviv
Legendary alternative rockers The Afghan Whigs make their return to Tel Aviv after a two year absence, for a show at Barby in support of their first studio release in 16 years, Do the Beast.
The Afghan Whigs came up in the late 80s as a garage rock band, but quickly began to chart their own path by adding new dimensions to their sound and released their first album, Big Top Halloween, in 1988. A year later they were signed to a record contract with an indie label and began their ascent through the ranks of alternative rock, eventually signing with Elektra records.
The band broke up in 2001, but reformed on a number of occasions starting in 2006, and finally in 2013 began to record Do the Beast, which was released in April 2014.
Tickets for the show are available through the Barby website.
