Legendary alternative rockers The Afghan Whigs make their return to Tel Aviv after a two year absence, for a show at Barby in support of their first studio release in 16 years, Do the Beast.
The Afghan Whigs came up in the late 80s as a garage rock band, but quickly began to chart their own path by adding new dimensions to their sound and released their first album, Big Top Halloween, in 1988. A year later they were signed to a record contract with an indie label and began their ascent through the ranks of alternative rock, eventually signing with Elektra records.
The band broke up in 2001, but reformed on a number of occasions starting in 2006, and finally in 2013 began to record Do the Beast, which was released in April 2014.
