Cut Out Club, one of the hottest bands on the Tel Aviv music scene right now (and an iTravelTelAviv favorite) will be celebrating their recently released self-titled debut album with a launch party at Barby in Tel Aviv on December 7, 2015.
Led by local mainstay Nitzan Horesh (formerly of Electra), Cut Out Club is a bit of a Tel Aviv super-group with talent picked from the local scene, such as Ishay Berger (bass) from Useless ID, which gained some acclaim in the early 2000′s. Their sound is decidedly funky with elements of 80′s electronica, Bowie-esque glam rock and classic big band rock n’ roll, among other sounds.
Concerts are always an experience, as the band brings a uniquely energetic performance to the stage that stands out among the generally laid-back Israeli fare that dominates the scene, creating an atmosphere that is reminiscent of bygone days at legendary venues with bands like the Ramones at CBGB in New York, the Doors at Whiskey a Go Go in Los Angeles and the Damned and the Sex Pistols at the 100 Club in London. You’ll be hard-pressed to find anything like it alone, but it’s here for the taking in Tel Aviv.
Check out this video and give their album a listen on Bandcamp to get an idea of what’s in store…
