One of the best day trips you can make from Tel Aviv is to Jerusalem. Visit some of the holiest sites of Jerusalem and to Israel’s most unique and important museum, the Yad Vashem.
From your perch above the Jewish cemetary on the Mount of Olives, you’ll start this tour with a magnificent view of the Old City of Jerusalem before descending down the hill through the Kidron Valley, past the Garden of Gethsemane, Church of All Nations and tombs of the Jewish kings, to the outer walls of the Old City.
After entering through the Zion Gate, you’ll walk through the historical Armenian Quarter and the restored Roman Cardo before arriving at the Western Wall, one of the most sacred places of Judaism. From the wall, you’ll continue your tour by following the Via Dolorosa, also known as the Way of the Cross, to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where Catholic tradition says Jesus was crucified, burried and resurrected.
After you’ve taken some time to stroll through the corridors of the Christian and Muslim Quarters, you’ll take a ride across town to the Yad Vashem, Israel’s national Holocaust memorial and museum.
