American singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega will play a 2-night engagement backed by the Israel Philharmonic at Tel Aviv’s Heichal Hatarbut (Culture Palace) June 9 and 10, 2015.
Vega rose to prominence in the 1980′s with with her unique folk-inspired sound, releasing two critically acclaimed and commercially successful albums and writing a song for the popular film Pretty in Pink. Vegas debut self-titled album sold over a million copies in the UK, and her second album, Solitude Standing, matched that number in the US while producing two hit songs. “Luka” was an immediate international success, while “Tom’s Diner” would eventually become her best-selling single in 1990 after getting a remix from British Dance producers DNA.
