Over summer 2015, the first ever Tel Aviv Blues Festival kindled the spirit of the Blues all over the city. It was such a success that the promoters have already set dates for a winter Blues festival in December with more international and local acts, including Piedmont Bluz and Jerron “Blind Boy” Paxton from the US. We’re looking forward to more blues in Tel Aviv in 2016!

Winter Blues Festival Concerts

Check out these hand-picked highlights from the Tel Aviv Blues Festival Winter Edition 2015…

Jerron “Blind Boy” Paxton

Seeing Jerron Paxton is like stepping into a time machine. The American (and Jewish) old-time blues musician plays a uniquely authentic, pre-WWII style of blues that never ceases to amaze and has made him a fixture on the Old Time, blues, and roots music festival circuit in the US. He plays guitar, banjo, piano, violin and harmonica, among other instruments, and has been hailed for harnessing the blues music spirit of the 1920’s and 1930’s.

Check him out mingling with the locals, having a meal and playing some tunes at Yafo Creative earlier this year…
