The impressive fortress-like architecture of the “Palmach Museum”, half blended in the trees and concrete surrounding it, doesn’t reveal the outstanding and exciting experience it offers. And maybe like the story of the “palmach” itself it has a lot more inside to it than in first glance.
This is not a common museum, and the experience it offers could be described as no less than theatrical- not the one you would expect. The tour begins underground with a memorial wall for the fallen, it then continues on to the story of 10 young palmach recruits, following their journey throughout major events in palmach’s history that have led to the establishment of the state of Israel. Their story is told from an intimate point of view, and thus helping us better relate to the characters.
Together with authentic materials, that are projected on screens all incorporated with impressive multimedia technologies, sound effects and three-dimensional décor, this museum is a must!
