The Tel Aviv Paleo market is a truly unique event, where people who observe or are interested in the paleo diet can get together, socialize, drink some cider and but paleo-friendly treats. To date, it’s the only paleo market in the world.
For those who don’t know, the paleo diet involves abstaining from processed foods, grains, dairy, legumes, sugar, salt and oils, although people observe it to varying degrees. The Tel Aviv Paleo Market, however, welcomes everybody, regardless of how strictly or if they follow the diet, focusing instead on the spirit of the paleo way of life and fostering a feeling of community.
At the market, you’ll find various kiosks selling everything from meat, cheeses and wine to cooking gadgets, produce, cider and other treats, as well as plenty of room to stretch your legs and enjoy your purchases.
Unfortunately, due to costs, the market has moved to Latrun, about half way between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. The 40 minute trip to experience the Paleo Market in the nature of the Jerusalem hills is totally worth it.
