The Miser, Nov 2-15

Famous classic comedy of Moliere, “The Miser”, is directed by Ilan Ronen. 

This play has been shown around the world and has won many awards. Once widowed, Harfgon plans to marry off his daughter to a rich older man ready to take her without a dowry, while he himself seeks to marry a poor young girl, in love with his son. 

In a series of ironic, comic situations, trying to prevent his children Harfgon fall in love, morbid lust for money, while they are trying to change the ruling of the the forced marriage. 

At the same time, Harfgon doing everything he can to keep his money, hides the box out of reach of children and servants.

The plot of the story deals with the tension and conflict created between love and money, and describes how the stinginess of Harfgon is damaging, in the end, leaving him without money or children. 

Showing at:  The Habima Theater, on the 2nd, 3rd, 13th and 15th of November.
