Onami is the unofficial address for authentic Japanese cuisine in Tel Aviv, with a menu that contains not only high-quality sushi, yaki soba and ramen, but also lesser-known dishes like the Agedashi Doufu (crispy cubes of tofu in hot tentsuyu sauce with nameko mushrooms, minced radish and scallions), a variety of zouisui soups (Japanese rice soup).
That said, sushi is still the main draw at Onami, where you’ll find some of the highest quality fish in the city and a massive menu of options you may have never even imagined existed. As the sushi scene has grown in Tel Aviv in recent years, a number of sushi joints have risen to challenge Onami’s supremacy, but if you’re looking for the best combination of variety and quality, Onami really has no equal.
