Based in the Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center, the Israeli Opera (also sometimes known as the Tel Aviv Opera) has made a name for itself based on its commitment to producing original, highly creative and authentic Israeli opera. It has cultivated its own distinct identity by finding and nurturing Israeli artists and commissioning and performing original operas by Israeli composers.
The Israeli Opera regularly produces and hosts world-class shows in Tel Aviv and around Israel, including the La Traviata and Tosca at Masada and L’elisir d’amore at the Sultan’s Pool for the inaugural Jerusalem Opera Festival, international hit Rock the Ballet and much more.
It also offers artistic instruction through its numerous workshops, the Young Artists Program and the promotion of young Israeli singers, who launched their careers at the Opera and have since performed worldwide.
Noted singers Ira Bertman, Svetlana Sandler, Anastasia Klevan and others, have appeared in various Israeli Opera productions before moving on to International acclaim.
