  • Jaffa, Tel Aviv

HaPisga, the Hebrew word for the summit, is a lovely little garden located at the top of Old Jaffa. It is one of the best places in the city to photograph the Tel Aviv coastline. The picturesque spot is close to the Zodiac Bridge.

According to local legend, visitors should stand on the bridge at sunset, touch their astrological sign and make a wish. Even if you don’t get your wish, the view alone is worth it.

The Statue of Faith is a popular spot for artists and is decorated with three Biblical relief scenes: Jacob’s dream, the Sacrifice of Isaac and the Fall of Jericho. Jaffa has a cluster of archaeological sites in the Old City, many of them dating back 3000 years.

One of the largest of these sites is at the foot of HaPisga. The amphitheater next to the garden showcases a long tradition of Summer musical shows called “The Nights in Jaffa,” which run throughout August, every Saturday night.
