Italkiya Bapisphishim’s checkered table cloths and intimate atmosphere are reminiscent of the real Italy and the food is no slouch either, as the chef uses Israel’s best raw ingredients to serve up his own interpretation of authentic Italian classics.
For starters, try the beef carpaccio with Italian artichoke, lemon aioli, lemon zest, scallions and parmesan, or the mozzarella and ricotta cheeses with orange marmalade, roasted almonds and arugula. And if you’re truly feeling Italian, before you move onto your main course, try one of the many meat, vegetarian or seafood pasta plates made with homemade pasta or gnocchi.
It gets a little tricky to describe the main courses, as they change daily based on what meat, fish and seafood arrives on a given day, but when it’s that so fresh, the restaurant doesn’t even know what it will serve until it gets there, you know it will be good.
If you’re in the mood for something a bit lighter or don’t take to surprises too well, there are plenty of pizzas to choose from with toppings like marinated chicken, handmade Italian sausage and all kinds of vegetables.
